STAFF BIO:

Victor Olivares joined Richmond United in 2025 as a full-time ECNL staff coach, bringing over 15 years of coaching experience across the youth, collegiate, and professional levels in both the United States and internationally. Known for his strong foundation in methodology and player development, Victor adds a global perspective and high-performance approach to the Richmond United environment.

Throughout his career, Victor has held a variety of impactful roles, including coaching with Houston Dynamo Youth, serving as an assistant coach with Potros UAEM in Mexico’s professional system, and working as a volunteer assistant with Club Esportiu Europa in Spain. He has also contributed at the collegiate level as a graduate assistant at West Texas A&M University and as an assistant coach at Texas A&M International University. In addition, Victor has held leadership roles as Director of Methodology and Coaching Development with El Paso Locomotive Academy and Laredo Heat SC, where he focused on building coaching frameworks and enhancing player development pathways.

Victor holds an impressive array of coaching licenses and advanced certifications, including a USSF B License and an A License from the Mexican Football Federation. He has also completed multiple professional master’s programs through institutions such as INEFC Barcelona and MBP School of Coaches, with concentrations in high performance, team sports, and football methodology. His continued education also includes specialized certifications from the Barcelona Innovation Hub in areas such as neurobiology, nutrition, and workload management in football.

As a player, Victor competed as a striker and attacking midfielder across several levels, including the Mexican professional system with Soles de Ciudad Juárez, NCAA Division II at West Texas A&M, and in the U.S. with teams such as El Paso Patriots and Midland Sockers.

Originally from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas, Victor brings a passion for both the game and personal growth. Outside of soccer, he enjoys artistic and creative outlets including concerts, festivals, art galleries, photography, and theater.
