Richmond United Orange Pre-Travel U7-U8 Programming for the 2026-27 Season:
- Pre-Travel Soccer U7-U8 is for players born between August 1, 2018- July 31, 2020
*Player born between August 1, 2017-July 31, 2018 are eligible for U9 travel.
RU Orange Pre-Travel U7-U8 is a year long program held at Striker Park designed to be the transition between recreational and U9 travel soccer for our youngest Richmond United Orange players. The objective of the Pre-Travel Program at Richmond United Orange is to provide our youngest players with an environment that develops their coordination / movement, ability with the ball, and love for the game in an age appropriate soccer environment.
Pre-Travel Soccer U7-U8 is a year-long developmental program split into three seasons that emulates the travel environment (Fall Season: August through November; Futsal Training: December-January; Spring Season: February through May).
Pre-Travel Soccer U7-U8 Structure
Pre-Travel Soccer players will be kept in a pool of players and organized weekly into training groups based on different factors (ability level, birthdate, size, etc). Game nights will be “in-house” each week as we group players together to create the most appropriate environment week to week. This format allows us more freedom and flexibility to work on the topics we covered during the week at training while in a game environment and focus more on development than results. While winning and losing is part of a soccer game, the main focus is the individual and technical development of the players in a competitive environment. Our primary focus is to ensure that our young players have a strong foundation in the basic soccer movements and soccer concepts that they can build on as they grow as players.
- Training: Monday & Wednesday, 4:45-6:00 PM
- Games: Friday evenings, 6:00-7:00 PM
- Game Format: 5 v 5 (4 + 1 GK)

- Yearly Outlook: Fall Season – training + 7 games + Festival (August-November), Winter Futsal – weekly sessions in Dec and Jan, Spring Season – training + 7 games + Festival (Feb-May)
