During their trip, they visited the renowned Sporting CP Academy, where Cristiano Ronaldo began his development, gaining valuable insight into the club’s training methodology and player progression model. They also spent time at the prestigious Benfica Academy, widely regarded as one of Europe’s premier youth development systems. There, they learned more about Benfica’s structured approach to identifying, developing, and integrating young players into its academy pathway.
In addition to their academy visits, Perry and Noah attended three professional matches while in Portugal, further enhancing their experience. The group watched a Sporting CP Cup match, as well as two Liga Portugal fixtures—one at the home of SL Benfica and another at GD Estoril Praia.
We extend our sincere thanks to our partner, WorldStrides, for making this experience possible. Richmond United is proud to collaborate with an outstanding organization that provides meaningful international opportunities for our coaches, players, and families.
