STAFF BIO:

Joshua Cowlishaw joined Richmond United Red as a Full-Time Staff Coach in 2025, bringing firsthand experience with the club as both a player and coach. A Richmond United and Richmond Kickers alum, Joshua is passionate about helping the next generation of players develop within the same pathway that shaped his own soccer journey.

Joshua has coached with Richmond United Red and the ECNL program, building on his experience as a player and his commitment to player development. He holds a USSF C License and is dedicated to creating a challenging, positive environment that helps players reach their full potential.

A Richmond native, Joshua played collegiately at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he competed as a center midfielder, left winger, and right winger. During his time with the Rams, he helped the program capture an Atlantic 10 Championship.

Outside of coaching, Joshua is a supporter of Liverpool FC and names Roberto Firmino as his favorite player. One of his favorite soccer memories is having the opportunity to play in Spain, an experience that further fueled his passion for the game.
