Richmond United is excited to announce the return of Soctoberfest, the club’s annual celebration bringing together players, families, coaches, partners and supporters for an evening of soccer, community and fun. The second annual event will take place Monday, October 19, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Henrico Sports & Events Center.
All funds raised through Soctoberfest will support Richmond United’s Rise Up Fund, which helps families in the community access the game they love, regardless of their circumstances.
Following last year’s inaugural celebration, this year’s Soctoberfest marks another special opportunity for Richmond United to come together as one unified club. From the club’s youngest 3-year-old players just beginning their soccer journey to U19 players competing in their final season, Soctoberfest celebrates the full Richmond United community.
The event will feature something for every member of the family, including futsal, a FIFA tournament, community organizations, partner activations and activities for players and families. The event will also feature a raffle with prizes throughout the evening.

Soctoberfest will also serve as a collection point for Leveling the Playing Field, a gear and equipment donation initiative designed to help make soccer more accessible to local players.
New and gently used soccer gear for children and adults of all sizes is welcome, including:
- Outdoor and indoor cleats
- Soccer balls
- Jerseys and shorts
- Soccer jackets and pants
- Goalie gloves
- Shin guards
- Soccer socks
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations to Soctoberfest and help put soccer equipment into the hands of players who need it.
Futsal at Soctoberfest
All U9-U12 Recreation, Red, Orange and Pre-ECNL teams are invited to pack the courts during Soctoberfest with fun and fast-paced futsal.
Teams can register for a 40-minute time slot on the courts. Futsal balls, goals and pinnies will be provided on site. Time slots are limited, and teams are encouraged to register early.
All are welcome to watch and cheer on Richmond United teams throughout the evening.
FIFA (FC 27) PlayStation Tournament
The Soctoberfest FIFA Tournament will be played across four separate age-divisions – U9/U10, U11/U12, U13/U14, and High-School. Each age-division will feature 16 teams of two players (both players MUST be in the same age-division, but not necessarily the same outdoor team), who will play a single-elimination knock-out style tournament beginning with the round of 16.
This FC 27 tournament will be played on PlayStation 5 and the controller, system, and game will be provided. The mode is ‘Head to Head’ where teams can select ANY real-world club. Each half will last three minutes and, if necessary, each match will be decided by overtime and penalty shootout.
The tournament-winning team (both players) of each age-division will receive a pair of Nike cleats for each player, purchased through Soccer.com.
Registration for the Soctoberfest Fifa tournament is $20 per team.
Soctoberfest is more than a celebration of soccer. It is an opportunity for the Richmond United community to come together and help ensure that more local players have the opportunity to experience the game they love. We hope to see you there!
